Up until the 2018 World Indoors, Hungary had not won gold at a world Indoors. Well, March 2018 changed that, as Anita Marton, upset Lijao Gong of China, taking the gold with a world leading throw of 19.62 meters. Danielle Thomas-Dodd took the silver in 19.22m, to Marton's 19.62m WL.

Anita Marton, was, well a bit in pleasant shock. It is one thing to dream to win the big title, it is another to accomplish it. We are very happy for Anita as we have watched her in European Indoors, Outdoors, World Outdoors, Olympics and Diamond League. And, it is nice to see a Hungarian win the gold in the shot put.
