Aisha Praught Leer perhaps surprised herself with NRs at the 3,000 meters indoors and 1,500 meters this past indoor season. At the World Indoor Championships, held in snowy Birmingham from March 1-4, 2018. In the 1,500 meters, steeplechaser Aisha Praught Leer took the slow pace of the final in stride, 76.48 (5:04 mile pace) for the first 400 meters, then, a 64 second 400 meters and the Genzebe Dibaba, Sifan Hassan and Laura Muir broke with the pack, which was Shelby Houlihan, Winny Chebet, Beattrice Kepkoech and Aisha Praught Leer. Hitting the 800 meter mark in 2:20 (a 4:40 mile pace), Aisha kept her cool, as Genzebe Dibaba ran a 60 second third 400 meters, winning in 4:05.27. Sifan Hassan the silver medalist from the 3000 meters, was overtaken by by Laura Muir, for the silver, 4:06.23 to 4:07.26. Aisha ran a 2:08 for the last 800 meters and her fast finish put her in sixth place, in 4:12.86, which showed that she and her training group were doing some serious speed work in the cold Colorado winter.

Here is part two of the Aisha Praught Leer feature produced by the Shoe Addicts (Adam Johnson Eder, Mike Deering and AJ Felice) for us. This series was supported by Under Armour to showcase their support of the sports and their athletes.

We look forward to seeing Aisha Praught Leer at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. (We have also linked the 4 pieces on Aisha just below this video, watch for Part 3 on March 26).
