Martin Kosgey took second in the Mainova Frankfurt Marathon in 2:06.41.

Martin Kosgey broke the pack at 38 kilometers, with Kelkile Gezehegn joining him. Alex Kibet charged back to the lead at 39k, and by 40k, he was three seconds down. Kosgey, the 2016 second placer, took the lead, picking up the pace, with Kelkile Gezehegn keeping his cool, and make a move just after 41 kilometers, which sealed Gezehegn/s victory.
