LJUBLJANA (SLO, Oct 28): Ethiopia’s Sisay Lemma clocked his second sub-2:05 performance of the season, winning the Ljubljana Marathon in a course record of 2:04:58 ahead of teammate Gebretsadik Abraha (2:08:36) and Eritrea’s Hiskel Tewelde (2:08:49). Only Eliud Kipchoge has two sub 2:05 during 2018, first by Lemma was 2:04:08 in January in Dubai. Visiline Jepkesho (2:22:58, course record) and Selly Chepyego (2:23:15) took a Kenyan one-two in the women’s race with Ethiopia’s Dibaba Kuma third in 2:23:34, following by former Boston Marathon winner Sharon Cherop in fourth in 2:25:02. Moldova’s Lilia Fisikovici was the top non-African finisher in sixth in a national record of 2:28:26.
