Georgia Aquarium to Host Pre-Race Weekend Ahead of Publix Atlanta Marathon

This looks like alot of fun! If one is going to attract new runners, and their families, then, ATC should be applauded for this unique partner for a marathon. Before the marathon, this would be a fun way to keep the family entertained and a great place to consider the challenges of the marathon.

Georgia Aquarium to Host Pre-Race Weekend Ahead of Publix Atlanta Marathon
Aquarium to offer discounts to all runners and volunteers, provide pre-race dinner

ATLANTA – December 17, 2018 – Atlanta Track Club and Georgia Aquarium are teaming up to welcome runners and walkers to Publix Atlanta Marathon Weekend this March. Participants in the full marathon will receive a complimentary ticket to the Aquarium for Saturday, March 16 with their race registration.

Discounts for participants in all races, including the full marathon, half marathon, 5K and Publix Atlanta Kids Marathon, as well as family members and volunteers, are available for the entire race weekend.

Georgia Aquarium will host a pre-race pasta dinner and gathering on Saturday, March 16 for race participants and their families. Participants and family members will be invited to purchase vouchers for the pre-race meal served at the Aquarium’s Café. Atlanta Track Club will provide a space inside the Aquarium for runners to meet and greet, receive pre-race massages, and relax before the race.

“The new Publix Atlanta Marathon course gives runners an opportunity to experience and celebrate the best of Atlanta,” said Rich Kenah, Atlanta Track Club’s Executive Director. “You can’t have a conversation about the best things to do in this city without mentioning Georgia Aquarium.”

“Georgia Aquarium is proud to provide a place for the runners and their families to gather and enjoy time together during race weekend,” said Will Ramsey, vice president of sales at Georgia Aquarium.

“The Publix Atlanta Marathon is a great event each year and we are thrilled to be a part of it.”

Participants in the full marathon will receive their complimentary tickets to the Aquarium via email as race weekend approaches. A link to discounted tickets will be sent to all participants and volunteers and included in their Virtual Event Bags.

Atlanta Track Club recently announced two other additions to Publix Atlanta Marathon weekend. On Saturday, March 16, the first Publix Atlanta Kids Marathon will take place, giving children 14 & under the chance to run a 2.62K, 262m Dash or 26.2m Dash. Additionally, the Club launched a “Cheer Zone” initiative, in which Atlanta residents along the Publix Atlanta Marathon course can apply to host a marathon watch party, with a $262 Publix gift card supplied by the Club to those selected.

The Publix Atlanta Marathon Events will be held in downtown Atlanta on Saturday, March 16 and Sunday, March 17, 2019. The races will start and finish at Centennial Olympic Park. Details and information on registration can be found at atlantatrackclub.org.
