Semenya 5:38.19 close to NR, Taylor 17.41
MONTREUIL (FRA, Jun 11): The EA Classic meet here saw Caster Semenya winnig the 200 m in 5:38.19 PB, she just missed the national record of Zola Budd 5:38.07 from 1991. It is also a World lead. Hawi Feysa as second was timed with 5:38.66. Another top 800 m runner Francine Niyonsaba from Burundi was 5th in 5:43.43, national record. Another top mark despite the weather was 17.41 by double olympic winner

Christain Taylor in triple jump beating Hugues Fabrice-Zango 17.08 and third Pedro Pablo Pichardo 16.67. Laura Muir won the 800 m in 2:00.63, 2nd best by an European this year. Algerian Abdelmalik Lahoulou clocked 49.27 in the 400 m hurdles over David Kendziera 49.77 and Mamadou Kasse Hann 49.85. Yuki Koike from Japan got the 100m in 10.20 and US Vernon Norwood 45.98 in the 400 m.

Kenyan Collins Kipruto after winning in Rehlingen got also here first place with 1:46.67 in the 800 m. Wilhelm Belocian topped the hurdles 13.52 just edging Aurel Manga 13.53. Women winners, were home Carolle Zahi 11.51 in the 100 m, Christine Botlogetswe 51.64 in the 400 m for Botswana, US Kendell Williams 13.10 the hurdles and Zalina Petrivskaya from Moldova hammer 71.52. Ronald Musagala clocked 3:42.34 to win the 1500 m.
