RunBlogRun notes: The Odlozil Memorial is one of the fine gems of meetings one will find in Central Europe. The sports mad Czech republic showcases local stars, plus the great stars on the global stage. In the 2019 version, three Czech victories and seven wins from all across Africa.

PRAHA (CZE, Jun 3): Spectators enjoyed three Czech wins at the 26th Odlozil Memorial meet (EA Classic) on a sunny and warm evening. Double World champion Zuzana Hejnova won the 400 m hurdles in 55.04, second fastest by an European in 2019. Behind her Sage Watson 55.76 and Megan Beesley 55.89. Jakub Vadlejch dominated the javelin with 85.75 season best over Adrian Mardare of Moldova 83.01 and 2013 World champion Vitezslav Vesely 82.85. Radek Juska in last round saved the long jump for him with 780 (-0.4). In total seven wins registered African athletes. Among men Arthur Cisse the 100 m in fast 10.01 (+0.1) over Jimmy Vicaut 10.07. Baboloki Thebe clocked meet record 45.09 in the 400 m beating Vernon Norwood 45.23. Hillary Ngetich won the Memorial event 1500 m in 3:37.70 and Antonio Alkana hurdles 13.37 (-0.2). Another African win for Abdelmalik Lahoulou in the 400 m hurdles 49.20. Among women Malika Akkaoui clocked 2:00.46 to win the 800 m edging Slovak talent, last year U20 runner Gabriela Gajanova who improved to 2:00.58 European lead. Tobi Amusan clocked 12.71 (-0.6) in the hurdles over US U20 Tia Jones 12.86 World leader for her category. Croatian Ana Simic topped women high jump with solid 194, French Axel Chapelle was the best in pole vault 560. Joe Kovacs beat with 21.29 home favorite Tomas Stanek 21.19 in shot put. In the pre-programme Czech men´s 4×100 m achieved meet record 38.94.
