Kenyan team for Doha
NAIROBI (KEN): Kenyan selected all reigning champions and wild card holders for Doha. Conseslus Kipruto in steeple along with Leonard Bett, Benjamin Kigen and Abraham Kibiwott. In the 1500 m with Elijah Manangoi also his brother George and World leader Timothy Cheruiyot and Ronald Kwemoi. Another four athletes event is marathon along with Geoffrey Kirui also Amos Kipruto, Paul Lonyangata and Laban Korir. Women 1500 m despite having the options, has so far only title defender Faith Kipyegon and Winny Chebet. Also women 5000 m could have one more with title defender Hellen Obiri (also for 10 000 m) and Lilian Kasait with Margaret Chelimo. In the 10k also there Agnes Tirop and Rosemary Wanjiru. Steeple has four names due to DL win by Beatrice Chepkoech with Hyvin Kiyeng, Celliphine Chespol and Fancy Cherono. In the 800 m Kipngetich Ngeno with Emmanuel Korir and Ferguson Rotich, on the women side Eunice Sum and U20 Jackline Wambui. MenÂ´s 5000 m has only Nicholas Kimeli as the other two are not fulfilling the conditions of number of anti-doping tests required to be selected. The same goes for Emily Tuei in the 800 m and other missing athletes in the team. In the 10 000 m Rhonex Kipruto with Rodgers Kwemoi and Alex Korio. Women marathon has Edna Kiplagat, Ruth Chepngetich and Visiline Jepkesho. In the 400 m Alphas Kishoyian (also E. Korir), two walkers are Samuel Gathimba and Grace Wanjiru for 20 km races. Two athletes in technical events, Mathew Sawe in high jump and Julius Yego in javelin and also mixed 4×400 m relay.
