This is an update on the 2020 World Athletics Indoor Championships, Nanjing by the LOC and World Athletics.

Ticket programme announced, mascot Cedar unveiled – World Athletics Indoor Championships Nanjing 2020

Organisers of the World Athletics Indoor Championships Nanjing 2020announced their ticketing programme and introduced the event’s mascot, Cedar, at a press conference in the eastern Chinese city on Tuesday (31).
Wenkor Ticketing was selected as the general ticketing agent for the event, which will be held from 13-15 March at Nanjing’s Cube Indoor Athletics Facility. Around 18,000 tickets will be made available over the six competition sessions.

Wenkor Ticketing, an affiliate of the Nanjing Cultural Investment Holding Group, will work with other ticketing platforms, including Damai, Maoyan and 228.com.cn, to provide ticketing services for domestic and international fans.

The tickets will range in price from RMB 50-600 (USD $7-$86) but will not be assigned to a particular seat. Instead, ticketed spectators can be seated freely anywhere in the ticket’s designated zone.

Also at the press conference, Wu Yahui, the LOC’s Assistant Director for Marketing Development, introduced Cedar, the official Nanjing 2020 mascot.

Created by a design team headed by young artist Zhang Qingfeng, Cedar represents a lively, confident figure, with its head held high, likened to an athlete eager to take on challenges. 2020 is the Year of the Mouse in the Chinese lunar calendar, the inspiration behind the “snow squirrel” design. Its name is taken from Nanjing’s symbolic tree. Organisers received 827 mascot design submissions from around the world.
