How is your daily training/coaching regimen going and how challenging has it been for you in this environment?
“My routine with the team has changed a lot. My school district encourages us coaches to stay in contact with the kids. So I’m able to write their workouts and encourage them to run and workout alone or with one other person while honoring social distance. All my classes are online, so it gives me more time to come up with creative ideas on staying safe and on top of their fitnesses at the same time.”
What advice can you give to runners, especially youth, HS, and collegiate athletes who are challenged during this time?
“My advice would be make sure you take this time to be safe and practice social distance. However, use this time to better yourself as an athlete by working on other aspects of your training that does not include running, such as mental toughness, core, glutes, and ankle strength. Learn more about recovery and start habits that will help you when we begin to get back to normal practices.
