The most iconic of marathons, Boston, has been postponed….
Boston Marathon for September 14
BOSTON (USA): This year’s 124th edition of the Boston Marathon has been postponed until 14 September by the city. The race was due to be held on 20 April but city mayor Marty Walsh confirmed the first cancelation of postponement in the race’s history (apart from 1918 when organisers held a military relay in its place). Boston governor Charlie Baker said: “Obviously postponing the marathon is an incredibly difficult thing to do. It’s one of the most iconic and patriotic events for our commonwealth and it will not be the same if it doesn’t happen right around the time as we all recall that the American Revolution began many years ago.” From boston.cbslocal.com.
