The European Athletics Association President, Svein Arne Hansen, died on June 20, 2020. Svein Arne succumbed after a stroke he experienced in March 2020. An online book of remembrance has been established at Sahtribute.com.

LAUSANNE (SUI): An online book of remembrance has been set up for Svein Arne Hansen, the former president of European Athletics who died last Saturday. European Athletics took the move in light of the huge number of tributes to the Norwegian official sent into their office and posted on social media. It can be viewed at sahtribute.com. It includes a reflection by Bill Glad, who as head of the president’s cabinet worked alongside Svein for five years since he was appointed to the role in 2015. The funeral will be held in Oslo on 1 July.
