KARLSTAD (SWE, Jul 8): World Athletics Continental Tour Europe Bronze meet Karlstad Folksam Grand Prix had top stars winning, despite the rain in second part of the meet some top marks were registered. Decathlon and heptathlon events were on the programme and in the final score of the best results Sweden had in decathlon 10 526 points (so better than existing World record) and in heptathlon 7083 (better than Carolina Kluft´s European record). Mondo Duplantis cleared 572 in third before the rain and saved so his win as Ben Broeders and Piotr Lisek had 562. Duplantis passed this height: “It was fun to compete for a while, but it’s tough to jump in the rain. Glad I managed 5.72 before the worst rain came.” Daniel Stahl achieved 68.10 in discus over Wictor Petersson 66.90, high quality also 676 (-0.3) by Khaddi Sagnia and 802 (+0.9) by Thobias Montler in long jump. Shot put winners Norway´s Marcus Thomsen 20.34 and Fanny Roos 18.41, javelin winners Kim Amb 81.48 and Iceland´s Asdis Hjalmsdottir 59.44. Henrik Larsson clocked windy 10.41 (+2.5) in the 100 m and Lisa Lilja 23.64 (+1.2) in the 200 m. Solid wins for Andreas Kramer 1:46.95 and Norway´s Hedda Hynne 2:03.71 in the 800 m, Linn Nilsson clocked 9:05.59 in the 3000 m. Suldan Hassan topped the 1500 m in 3:40.12 beating Emil Danielsson who achieved 3:40.74 PB.
