This is Stuart Weir’s piece on the Gala Dei Castelli meeting, held on 15 September 2020.

Gala Dei Castelli, Bellinzona, Switzerland

The race of the evening at the Gala Dei Castelli, Bellinzona, Switzerland was the women’s 800 which saw four women go under 1:59. Hedda Hynne (Norway) 1.58.10 with Selina Buchel in her home country second in 1:58.37. Another Swiss athlete, Lore Hoffman was third in 1:58.50 and Jemma Reekie was fourth in 1:58.87.

It was also great to see Wayde Van Niekerk back on the track, winning a 4000 in 45.58. Ajla Del Ponte took the 100m in 11.18 with Dafne Schippers only fourth in 11.42.
