POZNAN (POL, Sep 11): Michal Haratyk broke the stadium record with 21.55m in a high-class shot put at the Poznan Grand Prix. Nick Ponzio was second with 21.07m and David Storl third with 20.58m. PaweÅ‚ Fajdek was again over 78m in the hammer with 78.06m as Wojciech Nowicki was second with 75.14m. Malwina Kopron triumphed on the women’s side with 72.48m as Katarzyna Furmanek was second on 71.63m. Piotr Lisek needed just 5.72m to win the pole vault with Robert Sobera second on 5.52m. Paulina Guba won the women’s shot with 17.97m. Alex Bell clocked 2:01.60 to beat Angelika Cichocka by four hundredths in the 800m. The Polish 400m match-up saw MaÅ‚gorzata HoÅ‚ub-Kowalik win over Patrycja Wyciszkiewicz-Zawadzka 52.34 to 53.43. Piers Copeland, with 3:37.51, beat Marcin Lewandowski into third in the 1500m (3:37.71). Also 6th in the race Adam Kszczot with 3:38.69 (his 2nd fastest ever). Other winners were Kristal Awuah (11.37 in the 100m), Mateusz Jopek (7.70m in the long jump), Joanna KuryÅ‚o (6.25m in the long jump), PrzemysÅ‚aw SÅ‚owikowski (10.28 in the 100m) and Jessica Turner (55.89 in the 400m hurdles).
