GDYNIA (POL): The official pre-event press conference for the World Athletics Half Marathon Championships Gdynia 2020 will be streamed on the World Athletics YouTube channel at midday CEST on Friday. Joshua Cheptegei, Peres Jepchirchir, Krystian Zalewski and Constantina Dita, as well as Seb Coe and Gdynia Deputy Mayor Bartosz Bartoszewicz will be in attendance.

GDYNIA (POL): Italy’s Valeria Straneo, who was 13th in the Olympic marathon in 2016, is one of seven strong over-40 women athletes set to compete at the World Half in Gdynia on Saturday. “I am always very proud to be able to wear the blue (national kit),” said Italy’s 2013 world marathon silver medallist, who will run in Italian vest for the first time since Rio. “I have been missing since the 2016 Olympics in Rio; I almost don’t realize it. And I’m excited too. Yes, you never get used to these emotions, even if you are an expert. There is an extra responsibility, because you don’t compete only for yourself and you have to give your all.” Ireland’s Ann Marie McGlynn, Malta’s Lisa Marie Bezzina, Sweden’s Hanna Lindholm, France’s Samira Mezeghrane and Fanny Pruvost, and Finland’s Annemari Kiekara are the other veterans. GDYNIA (POL): The World Half on Saturday will be broadcast live on the World Athletics YouTube channel except for the 22 nations in which separate agreements with broadcasters have been reached, including USA, UK, Canada and Italy.
