Eliud Kipchoge was in the battle to win the London marathon until the very end. He developed a challenge with his hearing, which affected his sense of balance. Kipchoge fought as long as he could and he completed the event, like a champion.

Last, I do want to thank the organisation of the @LondonMarathon for going the extra mile to make the event possible. It shows what’s possible and gives hope other organisations can incorporate their plans to make sports possible in current times. #NoHumanIsLimited

AMSTERDAM (NED): The manager of Eliud Kipchoge said the Olympic champion’s ear problem during the Virgin Money London Marathon yesterday remains a mystery. “We are faced with a mystery”, said Jos Hermens. “I’ve never experienced this in fifty years.” From nos.nl. The world record-holder finished eighth and suffered his first marathon defeat in seven years and afterwards cited suffering from a blocked ear, causing balance problems, from 25km among a few issues.
After 25 kilometers my ear blocked and it couldn’t open anymore. But this is how sport is, we should accept defeat and focus for the winning next time.
Thanks for the support. pic.twitter.com/No1Kcyizco
