Are we looking at 2 more world records this weekend? Faith Kipyegon is oh so close to the 1000m best. Can Sifan Hassan challenge the women’s 10,000m world record, set by Almaz Ayana at 29:17.45?

HENGELO (ESP): Sifan Hassan, Faith Kipyegon and Yomif Kejelcha have been named for the FBK After Summer Competition meeting with a reduced schedule in Hengelo on Saturday. World 1500m and 10,000m champion Sifan Hasan will compete over the longer distance for the first time this year. The other distance for women will be the 1000m, set to feature Kipyegon, who narrowly missed the world record earlier this summer. In the men’s only race – over 5000m – world 10,000m silver medallist Kejelcha will take on Australia’s Stewart McSweyn, who has just run 3:30 for 1500m. The event will be put on by Global Sports Management for some of their athletes who were wanting more races before the season’s end. Wavelight electronic pace-setter technology will be used.
