I just do not get it. How many elite athletes do not take whereabouts testing serlously ?

One has to wonder what is going on in their minds, or are they hiding something? That is what Athletics Integrlty Unit is there to do. We will be watching this one closely.

And the excuses seem pretty lame...

2017 World champion banned

MONACO (MON): Elijah Manangoi, the world 1500m champion in 2017, has been banned by AIU for two years for whereabouts failures. The Kenyan was provisionally suspended in July after missing three tests last year. His period of ineligibility has been backdated to 22 December 2019. His 2000m result from June has been expunged. For the first missed test, he claimed his house key had been in luggage lost in flight transit so he was staying in a hotel, thus missing his 8-9am slot the following morning. For the second, he claimed he was stuck in traffic, missing his 5-6am slot. For the third, he said that someone he delegated to update his whereabouts entered incorrect information.
