The Bauhaus Galan team is excited to see that Swedish super stars will compete in Stockholm in the discus and pole vault.

Discus and pole vault among the Diamond League disciplines at the BAUHAUS gala on July 4 at Stockholm Stadium

The discus has been thrown back into the Diamond League circus as well as the other branches that disappeared last year. The branch program for this year’s BAUHAUS gala contains Diamond League branches for most of the best Swedish athletes, including pole and discus for men, as well as length and ball for women. Two more new old branches will be included in the BAUHAUS gala, 200 m men’s and 3000 m hurdles ladies. The BAUHAUS gala has the opportunity to supplement its own program with

additional branches.

– We are happy that the discus is back in the Diamond League and we have from a Swedish perspective got a very good branch program for the competitions July 4. It is also bed for pole vaulting at the Stadium, says Jan Kowalski, competition manager at the BAUHAUS gala.

Due to the fact that the Diamond League has decided to include discus, triple jump, 200m and 3000m hurdles, Johan Engberg, deputy competition director and branch manager, comments on the outcome:

– We can never know which branches will be the hottest in 5 years because the performance and profiles vary over time and between branches. Who could have guessed 7 years ago that the 400 m hurdles, pole and discus would be among the hottest disciplines at the Diamond League circus?

In the eighties, the stadium audience could see the man who took the athletics experience to new heights, Willie Banks, the great entertainer and double Olympic gold medalist, who established the applause at the big galas. He was a three-step jumper in a branch that last year was outside the Diamond League.

– Athletics is a global sport where some countries have a certain tradition linked to certain sports, but this can also vary over time. It is not possible to predict which branch will be the most popular branch in 10 years. It is also the allure of our sport, and symbolizes one of our great values, diversity, says Jan Kowalski.

The presented Wanda Diamond League program for the 2021 season shows how equal

athletics is. Men and women compete at the same place in the same place with the same prize money. This year

programs have the same number of branches for men and women, the same number of branches at every Diamond League gala, so also in Stockholm.
