LONDON (GBR): Pole vault star Armand Duplantis and Dutch running champion Sifan Hassan are the Athletes of the Year 2020 by readers of Athletics International (published by Peter Matthews and Mel Watman). Duplantis set an absolute world pole vault record with 6.18 indoors plus a world outdoor best of 6.15. Joshua Cheptegei, with world records for road 5k, 5000m and 10,000m, was runner-up, and third was Karsten Warholm with the second fastest ever 400m hurdles time.
