Due to the repurposing at the Reggie Lewis Center as a Covid 19 vaccine innoculation site, beginning Feb 1, Global Athletics & Marketing, the management and owners at the 2021 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, have moved the 2021 event to the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island, New York on February 13.

At RunBlogRun, we love the NB Indoor Grand Prix.
The Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex has a 200m MONDO track with hydraulics, that can be banked. The track is very quick. This is where Donavan Brazier set the 600m world indoor record in 2019. The athletes are reportedly excited about the speedy track in Staten Island, New York.

The complex will be all about COVID 19 standards, so athletes, management, media and officials will be limited.
We do not expect any audience in the complex. This will be a TV only meet.
This a World Indoor Tour event and it will be exciting!
The challenges in managing a meet in the COVID 19 pandemic should not be underestimated. Thanks to meet management, meet sponsors, athletes, media and officials on keeping the meet happening in 2021.

Please note that COVID-19 protocols will result in severe limits on available space for media in the arena. A virtual media experience will be made available for media to cover the 2021 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix by remote.

The 2021 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix will be shown live on NBC from 4:00PM to 6:00PM EST on Saturday, February 13.”
