The opening of the new Hayward Field is soft, and this meet, the most elite held so far, gives the University, meet staff and Lane County, among others, a chance to hone their skills of putting on a track meet in a pandemic.
EUGENE (USA): The second year of World Athletics Continental Tour Gold will start on Saturday in Eugene. The USATF Grand Prix meet (held for the first time) at renovated Hayward Field will offer spectacular names. Noah Lyles confirmed on Twitter he is planning to compete, in the program both 100 m and 200 m. Also, British middle-distance stars are set to run. Jemma Reekie in the 800 m and Laura Muir in the 1500 m in their season outdoor debut. Javelin World champion Anderson Peters is one of the top names in the technical events. The meet offers in a total of 21 events.
