HAMBURG (GER): World record-holder Eliud Kipchoge (2:01:39) and Tirunesh Dibaba (2:17:56) headline the fields for the NN Mission Marathon Hamburg on 11 April. Kipchoge is one of seven sub-2:07 performers in the line-up which also includes Ugandans Filex Chemonges (2:05:12) and Stephen Kiprotich (2:06:33), Ethiopia’s Aberu Kuma (2:05:50) and former European half marathon champion Tadesse Abraham (2:06:40) from Switzerland. Other notable entrants include Arne Gabius (2:08:33), Japan’s Jo Fukuda (2:09:52) and Kenyan track great Augustine Choge who has a 59:26 half marathon lifetime best. The women’s race also features Kenya’s Gladys Chesire (2:24:51), Gerda Steyn from South Africa (2:26:51) and leading Germans Deborah and Rabea Schoneborn (2:26:55 and 2:28:42 respectively) and Katharina Steinruck (2:27:26).
