This is Day 4 of Week 3 of the Brooks/RunBlogRun Spring Middle Distance Daily Track Training. Brooks Running is sponsoring our daily training program. They are offering three of their brand ambassadors, Josh Kerr, 2021 Olympic bronze medalist, 1,500m, Danny Mackey, founding coach of Brooks Beasts TC, and Des Linden, 2018 Boston Marathon champion, and two time Olympian. The idea is that Brooks ambassadors will provide you insight into enjoying your running more, becoming a smarter runner, and building to your best fitness.

Today’s workout is fartlek, the Swedish word for ‘speed play’. 12 times a one minute surge, with one minute easy is embedded into a 45 minute fartlek session. Get on trails, run in snow, the idea is the effort. Make sure that you cool down slowly and completely.
