This is Monday, Week 4, day 1. It is a recovery day. You had a race on Saturday and a long run on Sunday.
Josh Kerr, the 2021 Olympic bronze medalist at the 1,500m, battled Ollie Hoare at the 2022 Millrose Games on Saturday. Ollie won the race in an Australian record and Josh Kerr took second, in 3:52.27, a new Scottish indoor mile record.
After the race, Josh Kerr spoke about how this was the fastest that he had raced in January. He also spoke about how he wants to win more medals, beat more of his competitors and run faster, something all of us want!
Enjoy Josh Kerr’s clip today, where he speaks about his hero, the great Scottish athlete Graham Williamson, one of the fastest young milers in history.
In the next few months, we will look at how Josh Kerr prepared for Tokyo and how Coach Danny Mackey helped Josh achieve his dreams.
