2022, 2023, 2024, 2025, 2027, 2028 are global championship years. While there are many opportunities for world class athletes, one must pick and choose the championships that make sense. For Holly Bradshaw, an Olympic bronze medalist, she had 4 championship options in 2022. Missing the 2022 World Indoor Championships, Holly is making a smart decision, with a busy summer ahead, with the Commonwealth Games, European Championships and World Outdoor Championships in Eugene. Picking and choosing meet, and major events to focus on is what an elite athlete has to do.
LOUGHBOROUGH (GBR): Olympic bronze medallist Holly Bradshaw will miss the indoor season due to a combination of illness and injury. “I’ve very recently suffered with a mild bout of Glandular Fever leading to various different niggles where my body clearly can’t tolerate the load I’m asking of it. All of this has left me feeling incredibly tired, stressed and deflated so I’m taking all of this as a sign that I need time to rest and recover!” she wrote on Instagram.
