Jesse Williams of Sound Running and his good friend, Craig Vanderhoef were searching for the perfect 10k, and they just about got it. The winds were so bad on Saturday, that on Friday, Sound Running moved their 10k extravaganza to Sunday night, March 6, 2022.

Grant Fisher battled training partner Mo Ahmed to the finish, setting ARs/WL and Canadian records! Jack Rayner set an Australian record.

In the women’s race, Elise Cranny, running by her lonesome, went 30:14.66 , WL and #2 American time. Running 8,000 lonely meters, Dominique Scott ran 31:00.10, to take second.

Sound Running is developing a reputation for these bespoke meets, where the athlete gets the treatment and the performances are glorified.

It is a very good thing for the sport.

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO (USA, Mar 6): “The Ten” saw Grant Fisher clocking US record 26:33.84 also WL ahead of Canadian Mohamed Ahmed 26:34.14 NR. Third Australian Jack Rayner 27:15.35 NR and fourth Sean McGorty 27:18.15. In fifth Kieran Tuntivate for Thailand 27:23.64 and sixth Briton Patrick Dever 27:23.88 EL. In total 19 runners went under 28 minutes in two races. Fast 30:14.66 2nd best ever US and WL by female winner Elise Cranny ahead of South African Dominique Scott 31:00.10 and Canadian Andrea Seccafien 31:15.78. In total 15 runners achieved sub 32 times in two races. New Zealand´s George Beamish won the 1500 m in 3:36.53 WL.
