Since Sound Running began, the approach that they have had to managing events, handling the care and feeding of athletes in a pandemic, and the quality of the events has been, well, extraordinary.

Jesse Williams and Craig Vanderhoeff love the sport of athletics, and they put their money where their feelings are. They are busting their butts, 24/7, to build the sport and build a series of bespoke events that Sound Running began in 2020, and then, expanded in 2021.

The first meet, The Ten, was their best meet so far. The two world leaders at the 10,000m (and I believe a WL at the men’s 1,500m as well). For these meets to work, one must have star power, deep fields and they have another thing. The streaming video, at a very low cost has most of the money going to the prize purse. I like that too, and so do the new audience of fans.

On the subject of the apparel line, we will be speaking with Sound Running on their apparel launch. As Craig Vanderhoeff is one of the finest apparel people in the world, I am looking at anything he develops. Craig has gotten running apparel for years. From sourcing to how many stitches go into a pocket. Jesse is a keen observer, and his experience in running a business complements Craig’s vision. Add to that, Pacers Running, one of the finest retailers in the country, and this “Apparel for the sport” new brand has real legs.

I look forward to learning more about the brand and the upcoming events in 2022.

Sound Running launched their Apparel for the Sports project today and has partnered with Pacers Running as the official retail partner for all Sound Running events and online marketplace. Pretty cool but do we need more running gear? Yes, because when you buy Sound Running apparel you are also funding the future of our sport as the revenue all feeds back into Sound Running’s professional track events. “We love what Sound Running has been doing in our sport and we wanted to support their efforts to build the sport through our retail network”. – Chris Farley (Pacers Founder/Owner)

About the apparel… It’s inspired by and created for those pre and post-run moments and will also introduce “Athlete Sizing”. Athlete Sizing is a new inclusive approach to comfort and shape that allows the athlete to determine their perfect fit based on their body and desired performance. Moving beyond men’s and women’s sizing to build a product that fits the shape of the individual athlete, and creating apparel for the sport.

“Partnering with Pacers will help bring this project to so many more runners and we couldn’t be more excited to launch today” – Jesse Williams (Sound Running) Runners everywhere can learn more about the Apparel for the Sports Project HERE as more styles are added each week.

You can also find us at the track!

March 5 – The Ten (San Juan Capistrano, CA) (two 10,000m World leaders, 26:33.84, Grant Fisher, 30:14.66, Elise Cranny)

April 1/2 – College invite (Irvine, CA)

May 6th – Track Meet (San Juan Capistrano, CA)

May 7th – OC Classic / American Track League (San Juan Capistrano, CA)

July 2nd, 9th, 16th – Under Armour Sunset Tour (SoCal)

About Pacers

Pacers Running started as a neighborhood running store in Old Town Alexandria in 1991. Over the years we’ve changed hands, opened more doors, and expanded into races. While we’ve changed a lot since our humble beginnings, what hasn’t changed is our commitment to you, the runner, our community, and our people. Driven by our mantra, For Every Run, Pacers Running exists to help as many people as possible through running.

About Sound Running

The Sound Running mission is to improve the sport we love and Inspire runners everywhere. This means giving back to the community through our events, building apparel for athletes, and helping ALL runners achieve their goals with smarter training. The Sound Running team combines for over 30 years experience helping athletes become Olympians, win U.S. Titles, World Medals, and set World Records. We are also still learning every day from YOU, and will continue to evolve and provide opportunities for runners.
