SAVONA (ITA): Initially due to compete in the 200m in Savona (WACT Challenger) on Wednesday, Marcell Jacobs will contest the 100m instead. He will face his relay teammates Eseosa Desalu and Lorenzo Patta as well as former European record-holder Jimmy Vicaut. This will be his first race of the outdoor season after illness forced him to scratch from the Kip Keino Classic in Nairobi. In the shot put, leading Italians Zane Weir and Nick Ponzio take on former European and world champion David Storl and Mesud Pezer.
