Kenny Bednarek is the 200-meter World Championship silver medalist in Eugene.
In 2021, Kenny Bednarek took Olympic silver, finishing ahead of Noah Lyles.
In Eugene, Noah Lyles took the gold in 19.31 AR. Kenny Bednarek took the silver
medal in 19.77, and this was, despite an injured toe. Kenny had to rehab his
toe in order to compete at the US champs and the World Champs. Kenny
saw making this event as pretty amazing.
This is what he told the mixed zone:
“It is a very special moment. I had a setback earlier this year. I broke my toe, and just to be able to make it to the finals, and now I have a silver medal again, I kind of noted that. I just try to be better and this is just an amazing experience and I want to come stronger next year. I felt like last year we had the opportunity to sweep the medal podium, but Andre took that away from us. So to be able to complete it this year, it is an amazing experience. We have great athletes on the team. We continue to be stronger every single year. I am looking forward to the relay; let’s see what happens.”
