This is an interview with Anouk Vetter, the Belgian record holder in the heptathlon and

WC 2022 silver medalist in the heptathlon.

Anouk Vetter is one of the finest multi-event athletes in the world.

Anouk Vetter throws a huge javelin throw, 58.26m, to take a 20-point lead from Nafi Thiam after the sixth event of the heptathlon, photo by Kevin Morris.

Anouk took silver in the Oregon 22 World Athletics Champs heptathlon.

Her score of 6,867 was a national record for her country, The Netherlands.

Anouk competed well; her events and performances:

100mh in 13.30, HJ of 1.80m, Shot put of 16.25m, 200 meters of 23.73 for day 1.

On day 2, Anouk Vetter kept the pressure on Nafi Thiam, her Belgian competitor, with

an LJ of 6.52m and a huge javelin throw of 58.26m, putting her in the lead, with 6,045 pts to

Thiams’ 6,026.

Anouk Vetter ran 2:20.09, and as Nafi Thiam ran 2:13.00 over the 800m for 921 to Vetter’s 822,

Nafi Thiam took gold with a score of 6, 947 to Vetter’s NR of 6,867.

This interview was conducted in the Mixed zone post-heptathlon by the EBU Radio team for European

Broadcasting.
