REHLINGEN (GER): European marathon champion Richard Ringer decided against competing in an autumn marathon in order to focus on a fast spring marathon in the build-up to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, informs Leichtathletik.de. “I might have managed somehow [to do an autumn marathon]. But I’m planning for the long term, and I’m already looking at the 2024 Olympics in Paris. It’s important for me to run a good marathon time next spring,” he said. Ringer is looking to improve his lifetime best which currently stands at 2:08:49.
