This is an interview conducted by RunBlogRun’s Larry Eder in March 2023 at the Global Athletics & Marketing Business Conference, held annually in Las Vegas by Global Athletics’ Mark Wetmore and his team!

Aleia Hobbs is a very tough athlete. Her AR was in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at the 2023 USATF Indoor Champs. Aleia ran with so much force that she injured her wrist, requiring surgery, which she has since recovered from.

Her 6.94 AR suggested big things to come, and she has shown her outdoor talents, with some fast times over 100 meters.

On April 8, 2023, at the Lloyd Mills Invitational, Aleia Hobbs opened with a 10.86 (wind reading was 2.00mps, a positive wind), a world leader. Then, on April 22, 2023, Aleia ran 10.86, with a wind reading of 1.9 MPS at the LSU Alumni Gold meet, where she won once again and provided a world leader for a few hours until Sherika Jackson ran 10.82!

On April 29, at the LSU Invitational meeting, Aleia Hobbs ran 11.04, with a legal 1.9 MPS wind, again taking the win.

In my mind, Aleia Hobbs looks poised for greatness.

I did this interview with Aleia Hobbs as part of the Global Athletics & Marketing Business conference, an annual event where Mark Wetmore and his team provide access to 25-26 athletes over two days. RunBlogRun interviews 25 for 20-45 minutes with audio and video and this is our Aleia Hobbs interview as I think she provides a strong insight to her training, her racing and how her life has changed so much with the addition of her baby son.

Aleia Hobbs is a sprint warrior, and she has been with Coach Dennis Shaver since 2014, training with Mikaih Brisco since 2014 and now, also trains with Candice HIll, since 2021.

Enjoy this interview.

Special thanks to Mike Deering, who ensured that the interview can be enjoyed at a level, not too loud, where one can actually hear what Aleia Hobbs wanted to say!

Aleia Hobbs will be competing on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the adidas Atlanta City Games, you can find complete information at https://www.adidasatlantacitygames.com/meet-info
