I met this Mom and her 8-year-old son, Casey, and 10-year-old daughter, Kayla. Mom had brought the kids to the meet as a birthday surprise (#8) for the son, who loves Noah Lyles and Christian Coleman. The 10-year-old daughter, Kayla, adores Sha’Carri Richardson and Noah Lyles. Made me smile the entire time I did the interview; they are the sports’ present and future.

Mom had told Casey that he was going to Las Vegas to see family and they surprised him with the USATFOutdoors!

Casey thinks Noah Lyles and Christian Coleman are pretty cool, and he wants to race at Hayward Field at the upcoming Youth Meets. Kayla thinks Sha’Carri Richardson and Noah Lyles are pretty cool.

Why did I interview these two?

I wanted our adult fans to remember what is like to have an interest in the Superstars when you are a kid!

We have several hundred incredible stories in our sport, and as we tell the stories, fans and athletes come together.

Thanks to Casey and Kayla’s Mom, who was really cool.
