Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has run PB after PB in the 400 meters. She now has an issue.

On Friday morning, Monaco local time, Sydney announced that she has pulled out of the Monaco Diamond League meeting due to a knee issue.

This was her statement:

“Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has made the difficult decision to withdraw from today’s Monaco Wanda Diamond League. She deeply regrets not being
able to compete in today’s Monaco competition due to a knee issue, as advised by her doctors. She is grateful for the support and understanding from her fans, sponsors, and event organizers, especially the Prince Albert II of Monaco and Herculis EBS Wanda Diamond League meeting organizers.”

We wish Sydney a quick recovery and hope to see her in Budapest.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone is the world record holder for the 400-meter hurdle, a record which she has broken 4 times. Sydney is also the WC gold medalist and Olympic gold medalist. Sydney has a second gold medal at the 4x400m from Tokyo and 4x400m in Eugene. In 2019, Sydney McLaughlin took silver in the 400m hurdles and gold in the 4×400 meters.

This year, Sydney has been concentrating on the 400-meter flat, hoping to see how fast she can go. So far, she ran 49.73 to 48.74.
