In her second marathon in six weeks, Brigid Kosgei ran 2:19.15 at the ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon, winning by nearly five minutes. Her victory gave her a prize purse of $50,000.00 U.S. for first place. Money awards were ten deep in women and men.

25,000 runners competed in the 2023 ADNOC Abu Dhabi Marathon.

The Abu Dhabi Marathon is the third global running event hosted in UAE in 2023, after the Dubai Marathon, and RAK Half Marathon.

Brigid Kosgei, Kenya, is an amazingly talented athlete.

On October 13, 2019, Brigid Kosgei ran 2:14.04 WR at the 2019 Chicago Marathon. This was after

Brigid had won the 2019 London Marathon in 2:18.20.

The Olympic marathon is postponed from 2020 to 2021. In April 2020, Brigid Kosgei won London,

For the second time, in 2:18.20. Brigid took the silver at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.

In 2022, Brigid Kosgei won the delayed Tokyo Marathon with a fine of 2:16.20.

Then came Tigist Assefa and the 2:11.52 WR at the 2023 Berlin Marathon on September 25.

Brigid Kosgei ran the NYC Marathon, finishing fourth.

So, how do you end a year when you have had a sub-par race? You run a 2:19.15 win all by your lonesome!
