Russell Clayton has the WL for the 400m hurdles. Neither Femke Bol nor Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone have competed at the distance in 2024. We are doubtful that Sydney will not compete over the distance in 2024, but what do we know?

KINGSTON (JAM, May 11): At the Jamaica Athletics Invitational Meet (WACT Silver), Rushell Clayton got a narrow victory in a stacked 400m hurdles field in a world lead of 53.72 ahead of Anna Cockrell of USA (53.76) and Shian Salmon (54.57), former Olympic champion Dalilah Muhammad finished fifth (55.77). Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan clocked another world lead 12.40 (0.9) in the 100m hurdles over Danielle Williams (12.46) and US Christina Clemons (12.54).

Briton Zharnel Hughes won the 200m in 19.96 (1.1), European lead, ahead of Fred Kerley (20.17) and Pablo Mateo of France (20.20), and Christian Coleman finished fifth (20.46). Another European lead 44.69 for Briton Matthew Hudson-Smith over Matthew Boling of USA (44.98), and one more British win by Dina Asher-Smith in the 200m with 22.51 (1.0) ahead of Ivory Coast´s Jessika Gbai (22.53). Malik James-King clocked a big PB and Olympic standard of 48.39 in the 400m hurdles over Kyron McMaster of BVI (49.00).

100m victories for Marie-Josée Ta Lou-Smith of Ivory Coast in 10.91 (1.1) ahead of Krystal Sloley (11.09 PB), and for Julien Forte in 10.02 (0.8) over Ackeem Blake (10.02) and US Brandon Hickling (10.09). Daniel Roberts topped the 110m hurdles in 13.17 (1.8) ahead of American fellow Eric Edwards (13.33) and Lafranz Campbell (13.37 PB). Home triple jumpers leaped to the outdoor world leads, Shanieka Ricketts with 14.50 (0.6) over US Jasmine Moore at 14.28 (0.5) and Dominica’s Thea Lafond with 14.22 (-1.3), while Jayden Hibbert, in his first competition since being injured at World Champs, won with 17.57 (-1.3) ahead of Jordan Scott 16.84 (-0.4). Alexis Holmes of the USA won the 400m (50.31) and Raymond Richards the high jump (224).
