This is my daily chat with #RunBlogRun viewers and track fans on all things track & field!
This is Coffee with Larry for July 1, 2024.
This is our last CWL from Eugene, so let’s get the party started!
Our topics:
1. Thanks to Dave Frank for his phone charger so I could get home on Saturday night.
2. Seeing friends at the Wild Duck Cafe was good for my soul.
3. Great to see Jeff Shaver, Charles Alexander, Doug Steadman, Joe Mangan, Peanut Harms, Peter John Thompson, Ron Richards, Peanut Harms, et al.
Special thanks to Pat Devany for supporting the remembrances of Mike Fanelli.

4. I had a wonderful conversation with ESPN’s treasured announcer, Larry Rawson.

5. Some stories are on my Twitter, and I hope you enjoyed them.
6. Great last day of the Olympic Trials.
7. Thanks to UW, Dr. Wolff, Dr. Hacker, Dr. Gemeli, my bro, son, GF, family, and friends.
8. Well done, Tracktown USA, USATF, and USOC on putting together another wonderous Olympic Trials.
9. Speak to you soon!
10. Brilliant Men’s 800m by Bryce Hoppel, 800m/1500m by Hobbs Kessler.

12. Thanks to Paul Merca, Bobby Hodge, Olivia Miller, Deji Ogeyingbo (twitter/X), Chuck Aragon (photos), Kevin Morris (photos), with thoughtful comments by Jeff Shaver, Peter John Thompson and my coach coaches, Joe Mangan. Coverage of British Trials by Stuart Weir and Western States 100 Miler by Brian Eder and John DiMarco!
13. Thanks to my son Adam for helping me get my back relaxed.
14. I enjoyed working with our intern, Olivia Miller, who wrote daily and kept me company during the evening sessions with good sports and sports coverage observations. I like learning something new daily, and Olivia had some nuanced observations.
15. Thanks to Natalie Uhl and Aart Parkh, who are USATF comms. We have disagreements, but their love of the sport is unquestioned. Their Media guide was so helpful, day after day!
Coffee with Larry is coming again soon!
