2. The Budapest 2023 WC was now a year ago. This was our

most popular story from Budapest, https://www.runblogrun.com/…/an-epic-pole-vault… . The women’s pole vault should be incredible in Paris. How will Katie Moon and Nina Kennedy do in Paris?

3. Shericka Jackson will not be competing in the 100 meters; here’s the story (and listen to our podcast on it). Story for NY Times by Marcus Thompson II, https://www.nytimes.com/…/jamaica-shericka-jackson-100…/

4. Shericka Jackson was not really talkative about her departure from the 100 meters. We at RunBlogRun suspect she needed a bit more time to feel whole, so she is focused on the real prize, the 200 meters. It is the prudent thing to do.

5. Congrats to Alex Yee, British triathlete and distance runner, who used his 27:51.94 PB at 10,000m speed to catch NZ Hayden Wilde (1:43.39) and take gold (1:43.33). Yee took the lead with 800 meters to go! France’s Leo Bergere, 1:43.43!

6. Alex Yee ran the 10,000m in 2018 at #Night of the 10,000m PBs, running 27:51.94, just 4 seconds off David Bedford’s 27:47 Junior British record. I was there and loved watching that race!

7. Track and field begins with Walks on August 1, 2024.

8. The Decathlon opens on Friday, August 2, 2024, with the Men’s 100m first round preceding the first decathlon event!

9. Sifan Hassan is running the 5,000m (Aug 2 and Aug 5), the 10,000m (August 9), and the marathon (August 11), emulating late great GOAT Emil Zatopek, who won all 3 in 1952 Helsinki. I pick Sifan as bronze, probable 6th, in 5,000m, silver in 10,000m, and gold at the marathon. But I am just dreaming?
