1. The Olympic Trials continue to impress.
2. There were good crowds, not great crowds, but Hayward Magic, Tracktown, and USATF have done little to mitigate (nor can they, in many cases) slow down hotels’ greedy pricing and restaurant early closings. Until these things change, the House that Phil and Penny built will have a less-than-stellar crowd.

3. I met an 11-year-old reporter, a very friendly kid who is quite articulate about the sport.
4. Nike and adidas are the biggest supporters of athletes in sport; however, On running, HOKA, Brooks, PUMA, ASICS, New Balance, and Tracksmith all support athletes in their dreams of going to Paris!
Two-hundredths of a second separated Elise Cranny from winner Elle St. Pierre, photo by Chuck Aragon for RunBlogRun
5. Supporting running brands is good for business, as the running consumer (the 20 percent who purchase running shoes for actual running) uses many criteria to support their running brands, and support for the sport is key!
6. Great performances in Eugene; so many stories to tell.
Ryan Crouser was not sure he would throw just twelve days ago, but he won his third Olympic Trials! by Chuck Aragon for RunBlogRun.
7. The Field events are fantastic; I wish that the coming pro events would consider field events; I fear there is a sense in some of their comments, but field events like shot, LJ, and PV would build a robust fan base.
8. MJ’s Grand Slam Track conducted a superb-sounding session with the media. I was totally impressed with MJ and his experienced team. The Truth is that MJ and the team are asking the right questions. No other event in 40 years EVER asked for media input before the event; in most cases, they shove a message down our throats, not thinking that anyone who has covered events and athletes could have anything to say that could improve the sport. Most of the time, many of us feel like the enemy in this game of covering a sport we love but are chastised when we provide critical analysis.

9. Grand Slam Track has named Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and Josh Kerr as its two first racers. Grand Slam Track is making smart moves on its time schedule.
10. Enjoy our coverage, see you in Eugene.

See you tomorrow on Coffee with Larry!
