This is Coffee with Larry for Thursday, August 1, 2024.

Our topics!
1. New sponsor, our new partner, Omios, makes products that cool you down during hot weather.

2. I have tried their hat, and it is simple to use. Wet the ‘diamonds’, which provide the cooling. The diamonds are the cooling cubes.
3. Wet the diamonds, and the hat cools you down for 90 minutes, as long as you move!

4. To learn more about our new partner, please go to www.Omios.IO !
5. The hat was used by 20k Racewalk champion in Paris, Brian Pintardo, Ecuador, until the last few steps of the race!

6. We suggest it as a great way to keep cool for coaches and athletes during your summer cross country training!
7. Race walks were today.
8. Brian Pintardo of Ecuador won with 1:18.55, Caio Bonfim, BRA, 1:19.09 and Alvaro Martin, ESP, 1:19.01, Massimo Stano, ITA, Tokyo champion, missed a medal by one second, after he slipped on sore ankle late in race! Terribly humid (94 percent), and about 84 degrees, the conditions were top.

9. Jiayu Yang, CHN tried to run away in the 20k, and built up a lead of 44 seconds, but Maria Perez, ESP, WC at 20k and 35k in Budapest, drew her back to 26 seconds, and Jemima Montag, AUS, took bronze. Yang won in 1:25.54, Perez in 1;26.19 and Jemmima Montag, 1:26.25.

10. Jake Wightman out of 800 meters.

11. Kevin Mayer, French star, out of decathlon. The French star and WR holder in the decathlon (9126) injured his hamstring at the Paris Diamond League a few weeks ago.
