Our topics today!
1. Nestled in the NIKE Armory Cafe, just off the track, yours truly purchased a last minute ticket (section 642, $143.08) and worked with Jeff Benjamin, our senior writer, to cover the #MillroseGames.
Coffee and tea, Scottie’s Eat Mor, the iconic breakfast spot, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, May 2024
2. Sad thing was, for some reason, for third year in a row, #MillroseGames continues to make it virtually impossible for many media to cover the event. They put Jeff on back side of track, no access to interviews, etc. Not sure that, with NIKE putting so much money into facility, that is good way to support media who are here when no one else is, and have been for 3 plus decades. You can sense my frustration.

3. The Millrose Games was the finest in recent history. I mean post 1974, my era. Walt Murphy, publisher of #easterntrack, said that you would have to go back to the 1950s!
4. We interviewed Ollie Hoare, Georgia Bell, Curt Clausen, Ray Flynn, Eamonn Coghlan, Katie Penn, a DMR team, and a host of others.

5. The NIKE Armory is a true sanctuary of sport, and the fans loved the two world records and fantastic races!
6. Enjoyed my time with senior writer, Jeff Benjamin, who did interviews, took shots and continued to stand in awe of our sport.

7. Enjoyed my time with Mark Bossardet, friend since 1986, who first raced in the Armory in a 2 mile in 1974, around 11 PM at night! Great to catch up with friends at these meets!

See you Monday on Coffee with Larry !
Well done #MIllroseGames!
