MADRID (ESP, Feb 28): Molly Caudery achieved the European leading 485 to win the final 9th meet of World Indoor Tour Gold in Madrid before the packed hall. Second Tina Sutej 470. It was also decided that Caudery won the Tour. Women’s shot World champion Chase Jackson confirmed the tour with the best result of the day, 19.48, ahead of Sarah Mitton, 19.37. Another decision made during the evening was in the final event, the men’s 60 m hurdles final, as Enrique Llopis won and equaled his NR from heats and 2023 and of Orlando Ortega from 2017. Second, Wilhelm Belocian 7.51 won the tour, Asier Martinez came in third with 7.53, and Dylan Beard came in fourth with 7.54.

Patrzia Van der Weken, with a 7.09 60m win, came close by 0.01 in the meet record and won the tour ahead of Bianca Williams 7.16 PB and Lorene Bazolo 7.17 NReq. Anita Horvat beat the Ethiopians in the 800 m with 2:00.35 indoor PB. Birke Haylom, as expected, topped the 3000 m in 8:38.45, and another favorite clearly winning was Leyanis Perez-Hernandez in triple 14.42. Brian Faust used the opportunity to win the 400 m and the tour in 45.74. Melese Nberet was the best in the 1500 m with a time of 3:38.22, with the tour going to Samuel Pihlstrom. Other tour winners were not competing, Tsige Duguma in the 800 m and Freweyni Hailu in the 3000 m. Lazaro Martinez won triple 17.12 in two non-tour events and Adrian Ben the 800 m in 1:45.39 indoor PB over Jonah Koech 1:45.78 and Callum Dodds 1:45.86 indoor PB.
