Our topics:

1. We spoke about the beginnings of the City Games, which go back to Newcastle and Manchester around 2010-2011.

2. The City Games were a big deal for several years, sponsored by Great Run and various footwear companies, bringing track and field to the city center of Newcastle, Manchester, among others.

3. The first City Games in North America was the BOOST adidas Boston Games in 2016, which went to 2019.

4. adidas brought in great athletes, had a major media day and held them in the city center of Boston.

5. The pandemic stopped that, and the event moved to Atlanta.

6. In Atlanta, they have the game in a city park, not the same as a city center.

7. Doha DL has been around since 2010.

8. For many years, the meet organizers brought in bands popular with the expatriot fans.

9. The crowds are from Kenya, Ethiopia, Phillipines, UK, US, and local. The crowd truly gets into the meet, and the performances really keep the fans on their feet!

10. The Doha DL meeting was, for about a decade, the first meeting of the Diamond League season.

11: European Cup 10,000m on Saturday in Pace, France. You can watch via www.european-athletics.com on Saturday, around 12 noon Central time!
