Faith Kipyegon will soon attempt to become the first woman to run a mile in under 4 minutes, and Nike, her partner of 16 years, is meeting this monumental sport moment by offering two ways to witness history.

Nike will welcome fans to Stade Charléty in Paris on June 26 for the opportunity to support Faith’s historic attempt in person. Nike is also partnering with Box To Box Films to invite supporters from around the world to watch Faith’s moonshot on a livestream broadcast available on Nike’s YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Douyin accounts, as well as Prime Video.

In addition, Nike and Box To Box Films are producing an immersive, limited-series documentary about Faith’s preparation for her groundbreaking attempt — and how she’s harnessing the full power of Nike to help make her dream a reality.

Faith, already the world record holder in the mile, is pursuing a feat that was once considered an insurmountable limitation and has, until now, remained beyond the reach of the world’s most elite women athletes. She will attempt to shave at least 7.65 seconds off her personal best of 4:07.64, set in 2023, to become the first woman to break the threshold Roger Bannister first surpassed roughly 70 years ago.

She chose to attempt the milestone as a challenge distinct from her dominance in the 1,500-meter run, for which she also holds the world record, and to further cement her legacy as the most decorated woman middle-distance athlete of all time.

In pursuing the landmark feat, she’ll push the limits of sport beyond what’s long believed to be achievable, setting the stage for future generations to dream big.

Learn more below about how to watch Faith’s historic attempt to break the 4-minute mile.

Faith Kipyegon’s Breaking 4, how to watch it!

ATTEND THE ATTEMPT

Supporters can register online to attend the attempt, which will take place June 26. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. CEST at Stade Charléty in Paris’ 13th arrondissement. Programming will begin at 7 p.m., and Faith’s attempt is planned for 8 p.m.

Media can request credentials to cover the event using an online form.

VIEW THE LIVESTREAM

Fans around the world can tune in to watch Faith’s attempt on Nike’s YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Douyin accounts, as well as Prime Video, beginning at 7:15 p.m. CEST on June 26.

The livestream, produced by Nike and Box To Box Films, will be available in all countries where each platform operates. A replay will be available shortly after the attempt.

WATCH THE DOCUMENTARY

Nike and Box To Box Films will release an initial 50-minute episode of the limited-series documentary Breaking4: Faith Kipyegon vs. the 4-Minute Mile June 20 on Prime Video. The second episode of the limited series will premiere in July.

The immersive limited series is an intimate and electrifying portrait of an athlete pushing the boundaries of human potential. The limited series follows Faith’s preparation for her groundbreaking attempt through exclusive access and interviews that illustrate her commitment to redefining the limits of the present for both elite and everyday athletes, and inspiring future generations to challenge the impossible.

Led by Academy Award–winning producer James Gay-Rees and Emmy-winning producer Paul Martin, Box To Box Films has changed the way the world thinks about sports documentary filmmaking. With hubs in Los Angeles, London, Paris and Mexico City, the company produces films and series for all major global platforms and theatrical release, with recent work including the double-Emmy-winning series Formula 1: Drive to Survive and Sprint, which offers an unprecedented look inside the world of elite track athletes.

The upcoming limited-series documentary will be available in 11 languages and in all countries where Prime Video operates.
