Carmoy 227, national records in women 5000 m, Mahuchikh 191


LIEGE (BEL, Jul 16): Belgian Thomas Carmoy closed the Meeting International d´Athletisme de la Province de Liege 2025 (WACT Bronze) with 227 clearance and nice attempts at 230 before packed stadium. Women started the main programme in high jump and top star Yaroslava Mahuchikh won on count back over Charity Hufnagel both 191, and not over 196.  Elliot Crestan wanted to attack 1000 m national record but got 2:16.58 win over Kethobolige Haingura 2:16.66 and Tshepo Tshite 2:16.98. More luck with Belgian record in women 5000 m.

U20 Hawi Abera from Ethiopia got big PB 14:49.70 win and Tokyo standard, the same for 2nd Australian Maudie Skyring 14:49.93 PB. They were followed by Klara Lukan from Slovenia 14:50.40 NR and Elise Vanderelst 14:51.13 Belgian record. Oratile Nowe was the clear women 800 m winner in 1:59.37.  Luxembourg´s steeple record holder Ruben Querinjean produced nice 1500 m win with big PB 3:34.92, in 2nd Henry McLuckie 3:35.60.

 

Good steeple for Niklas Buchholz from Germany 8:19.38 beating Ethiopian sub 8:10 runner Hailemaryam Amare 8:19.87. Winners in hurdles, Jeremie Lararaudeuse from Maritius 13.47 (-0.2), for the women, German Marlene Meier 13.06 (+0.1). In men 400 m hurdles Bassem Hemeida from Qatar 49.17. More Belgian wins for Imke Vervaet in the 400 m 51.56 and Belgian record holder Ben Broeders in windy pole vault with 556. Morrocan Younes Chattoui did not allow home 400 m win with 45.65 over Jonathan Sacoor 45.89. Patrizia Van der Weken dominated as expected women 100 m in 11.20 (+0.9).
