Danny Mackey has been the coach of the Brooks Beasts Track Club since 2013. Danny coaches athletes from the 800 meters to the marathon. He has coached, among others, Josh Kerr, World Champion in 2023 for 1,500 meters, World champion for 3,000 meters in 2024 Indoors, bronze Olympic medalist in Tokyo 2021 and silver medalist in Paris 2024, both Olympic medals at 800 meters!

We asked Danny Mackey to provide advice for Young XC runners.

His first article, on Don Bowden, America's first sub-4 minute miler, was published in RW in 1983.
