Our topics:

  1. Kenya took the top three in both the men’s and women’s Elite Marathon races, with Benson Kipruto winning the Men’s marathon, winning by .02 in 2:08:09!  Hellen Obiri won the women’s elite Marathon in a new CR of 2:19:51.
  2. Kenya has won 35 titles at the New York City Marathon, with 18 Men’s titles and 17 Women’s titles.
  3. Grete Waitz has the record for most women’s elite titles with nine and Bill Rodgers has won four marathon titles in New York.
  4. Weather was near perfect, with start at 48 degrees and, even with the sunny days, the temperatures stayed down!
  5. Top American performances were led by Joel Reichow, in a PB of 2:09:56, a 40 second improvement, and Fiona O’Keefe, who took 4th in 2:22:49.
  6. A busy week in New York: On October 29, Staten Island Running Association’s Legends and Youth Gala, on October 30, The NYRR’s Rising Star Shoe Distribution to 350 young and deserving athletes, and on October 31, the NYC elite athlete presser, where RunBlogRun interviewed nine athletes, and the Museum of World Athletics reception to honor 15 athlete donations at the NYAC! And finally, on Sunday, we covered the 54th TCS NYC Marathon from the NYCC Pavilion!
  7. We hope that you enjoyed it! See you Monday on #CoffeewithLarry
