Olympic winner Tola 2:05:40 CR DOHA (QAT, Jan 16): Olympic champion Tamirat Tola won the Doha Marathon in a course record of 2:05:40 (62:22/63:18), leading an Ethiopian 1-2-3 ahead of Asefa Boki (2:05:55) and Boki Diriba (2:06:26 PB). Oqbe Kibrom from Eritrea was the best non-Ethiopian as 6th 2:07:55 and best Kenyan Nicholas Kirwa as 9th 2:10:56. Tigist Gezahagn won the women’s race in a 2:21:14 PB (70:35/70:39), also leading an Ethiopian 1-2-3 ahead of Tigist Girma (2:22:33) and Muluhabt Tsega (2:23:21). Kenyan Amana Mursi debuted in marathon as 4th in 2:23:39.
